Cybercom

Thanks to the guys in Cybercom especially Rob Shine, it was a great two days.

Some of the publishable things that i learned whilst in Cybercom include:

With regards to SEO

  • Narrow truth is easier to rank then he broad truth
  • Keyword should always be on topic.
  • Internal links are crucial
  • Link bait is a practise whereby you do something creative to get links from bloggers. This acts a form of PR and affiliate marketing.
  • Digg, del.icious etc are wrth having for SEO
  • Some blogs worth checking out include , Aaron Walls blog , Red Cardinals blog, Zimbio, Social Media Explorer, Scott Monty
  • SEO is moving towards empowering influencers in social media, therefore socal media plus SEO.
  • SEO 2 is where there is no focus on link building, its more of a community building focus, such as social networking.
  • SEO 2 is central hub, such as Wordpress, which i am hoping to change to soon.
  • Blended search is important for SEO, videos in the "google search" cuts eye vision and impact where people look.
  • Videos dominate blended search.
  • Youtube is going to outgrow Google in the next year.

You must deliver creative entertaining content because when people start sharing your stuff your SEO will shoot up.

Some great Google/Facebook Tools:

Conversion Rate Optimisation

  • Technology changing to effect interaction of users.
  • Example of CRO is "cost per booking"
  • Trend is moving towards this.
  • Google Website Optimiser
