The early winners in the battle for inauguration-media-coverage supremacy were CNN and Facebook, which teamed up for a unique live-streaming event that integrated CNN.com's video player with Facebook status updates,


Twitter published a chart of activity on its blog. "Overall, Twitter sailed smoothly through the inauguration, but at the peak, some folks did experience a two- to five-minute delay receiving updates," Mr. Stone said in the post.






Marketers arent using online marketing as well as they should be!

Having made a presentation last week on the importance of marketers trusting digital. Only 3% of marketers are tracking their online strategy completely. This is stupid , in times like these, (R@@@@@@@N) a return on investment and accountability for marketers spend is essential. This does provide us with an opportunity to buck this trend however.

Is Twitter as usefull as claimed?

Twitter can be laregly beneficial to marketers as seen recently with Obama reaping the benefits of social media bt here is another side to the story.

Pepsi New Generation? New Logo, Similar to Coke's old strategy??
Pepsi have finally introduced their new logo which represents a smile. But the theme and sound and execution of this ad is so similar to cokes old ads about how coke is a lifestle and its been around so long. Im not a fan.





Marketing to Baby Boomers online

Here are some relevant statistics from eMarketer’s report that online marketers should know about the baby boomer generation:

- 74% use the Internet at least once a month;- younger boomers outnumber older boomers online 35.3 million to 21.4 million;- more boomer women are Internet users than boomer men;- -21% of boomers report not having Internet access;

- 62% of households headed by someone age 50 or older had annual incomes of $75,000 or more, nearly 5% higher than in 2004;

- 61% said it doesn’t pay to be loyal to one brand, especially in today’s marketplace;

- 68% of baby boomer women trust recommendations and rated information they heard in conversations as credible; and- further underscoring these findings, in a recent survey from the public relations firm Edelman,

-54% of baby boomers said the advertising industry misrepresents and neglects them, especially online, where

-72.5% of younger boomers and


-83.2% of older boomers said online advertising focused on younger age groups.
